The version of Pegasus Mail/Mac provided in this release is known to have an intermittent problem on certain classes of Macintosh.
Every now and again, for reasons which are still not clear, it will exit unexpectedly with a system error 25 after sending a message. If you are running MacsBug on your machine, it will probably report that the error has occurred at "Jackson+xxxx". The mail message is sent correctly in almost all cases.
The problem is generally extremely infrequent, and on many machines it never happens at all. It is not readily reproducible, which makes it very hard to track down.
Macintoshes which appear to be particularly affected are: SEs and Classics running system 6.07, or 6.08, and some models of IIsi running system 7.00 (although this latter version is extremely infrequent).
As soon as a fix for this problem can be found, a new version will be released in all the usual places. If you experience this problem and feel that you may have insights into its cause, please e-mail your ideas to david@pmail.gen.nz, or fax to +64 3 453 6612.
Thank you for your patience in this matter ╤ I hope that you will enjoy using Pegasus Mail for the Macintosh version 2.
